This
'65 Mustang was in high '70s fashion when it
came in. Fuzzy baby blue tuck and roll interior,
goopy blue enamel paint, a big yellow Accel
coil. The only strong opinion the customer had
about how this car got done: he likes orange.
So we mixed up a custom orange pearl for the
body, fixed a lot of rust before we shot it,
made a custom black leather interior with sewn
with orange thread, and painted every hard surface
in the interior the same orange as the exterior.
The orange paint inside was kind of a necessity;
there was so much rust inside that we had to
patch plenty of surfaces, destroying the fake
leather texture. So we decided to smooth out
all the texture and do the custom orange inside,
too. Custom? Classic?
